Teach your child to brush their teeth

In this article, we have some tips for you.

Milk teeth

Milk teeth are the first dentition of human beings. These temporary teeth grow from six months, sometimes a little earlier. They accompany human beings throughout their childhood, up to seven or eight years old. It is at this age that they are gradually replaced by permanent teeth.

Baby teeth fall out at the age of six or seven.

These funny little teeth are tools that allow the child to eat. By chewing its food, it prepares it for digestion. The permanent teeth of adults have the same function.

It is for this reason that baby teeth need the same care as permanent teeth. Knowing how to brush your teeth properly is a good habit that you should instill in your child from an early age.

Brush your baby teeth

When you have the right method, you clean all your teeth, gums and tongue at the same time.

If the child does not know how to brush his teeth, or if he does not do it regularly enough, the bacteria that settle there promote the appearance of cavities.

You have to teach the little ones this routine and show them how to properly brush their teeth. Explain these important points to your child:

  • We brush the teeth of the upper jaw from top to bottom and we do not forget the internal part.
  • We brush the teeth of the lower jaw from the bottom up and we do not forget the internal part.
  • Be careful, we also clean our tongue.

When you brush your teeth well, you eliminate dental plaque. Teeth and gums are protected.

Parents should explain to their children that their teeth are brushed regularly: after breakfast, lunch, dinner and before going to bed, especially if they have eaten food in the meantime.

Good oral hygiene

You maintain your health and oral hygiene not only by brushing your teeth regularly, but also by doing it correctly.

But that’s not the only good habit that keeps your child healthy and will last a long time.

For example, your child should be careful with falls. This does not mean that he should be prohibited from playing with other children. However, parents will take care to avoid dangers that could weaken their little one’s teeth.

It is never too early to learn how to brush your teeth.

Milk teeth are vulnerable to cracks. These cracks can become painful if not treated in time.

We also often give the little ones caramels, lollipops, candies… These are very hard foods that they should not bite.

If you give your child this kind of candy, make sure he doesn’t bite into it and brush his teeth right after. Explain that these are candies that suck, but do not chew.

If your child complains of discomfort or pain when he eats foods that are too cold or too hot, take them to the dentist. He probably has cavities.

Cavities must be treated as quickly as possible to avoid complications. In addition, when a child has cavities that hurt him, he stops eating properly.

Be careful, when teeth have cavities, even if they are treated in time, they become fragile. They may crack when the child eats solid foods, or the filling may come off. Do not forget it.

Dear mom, the oral hygiene of your child depends on you and the time that you devote to him. Offer good health to your toddler.
